Southern Hospital Redesign
The Brief:
Wareham Hospital required a conceptual redesign focusing on creating a more human-centred, restorative environment supporting staff wellbeing. The project explored how evidence-based design principles, biophilic elements, acoustic consideration, spatial flow and sustainable materials could transform clinical spaces into calming, nurturing settings that offered inclusive supported environment to realign and recalibrate during their working day.
The Result:
The design proposed improved spatial flow, inclusive design strategies, and sensory connections to nature enhancing emotional and physical wellbeing while supporting the hospital staff’s teams needs.
This project encouraged exploratory thinking to designing environments and zones that balance functionality with empathy and sustainability that considered the needs of the healthcare environment.
